The experience

Serious CPD by day. Real friendship by night. Mont Blanc all week!

Come to Chamonix for four days of high level podiatry teaching that you can use on Monday morning. Then ski. Then walk into town for a long lunch. Then meet the group again for wine, dinner and the kind of talk that only happens when you are five nights in.

Fifty places. That is the whole room. One host. One hotel. One mountain. The scale is kept small on purpose. Everyone learns your name, hears your questions, drinks with you and stays in touch long after you fly home.

Limited places

Fifty places. That is it. When they are gone, they are gone.

Real access

Ask Ian a question during the session. Ask it again at breakfast. Sit beside him on the way up the cable car. There is no closed room. No separate space. Just one surgeon who wants to talk about podiatry with you.

Your crowd

Come with a colleague or come by yourself. Either way, you will know everyone by name before the first dinner ends. Some people bring a friend. Others arrive solo and leave with a group chat that keeps going.

The right mood

Ian is warm, funny and direct. He answers without jargon. He tells the truth about what works in clinic and laughs while he does it. That mood spreads through the whole group. By Thursday, you are a team.

The programme

Four days. Taught at the edges of the day so the mountain stays yours!

Sessions run early and late. The middle of every day is free for skiing, sightseeing, the spa, or sleeping off last night.

Between sessions

The middle of the day is yours!

Ski the Grands Montets or the Brévent with new friends. Ride the Aiguille du Midi cable car, six minutes from the hotel door, up to 3,842 metres. Lunch at altitude with a glass of something cold and the whole massif in front of you.

Or slow it right down. A café. A book. A long soak in the spa. Join the group or head out on your own. Both are welcome. No one is counting how you spend the daylight.

Nights in Chamonix

This is where the group becomes friends!

A welcome dinner on the first night. Wine flowing. Someone already telling their best clinic story. By Tuesday you know everyone. By Thursday you are planning next year.

After sessions the group spills into Chamonix: the old bars on Rue des Moulins, a fondue in the square, one last round back at the hotel fireplace. Nothing is scheduled. Everything happens.

Your host

Dr Ian Reilly

Dr Ian Reilly, host of Podiatry CPD in Chamonix

Ian is a UK podiatric surgeon with more than three decades in clinic, in theatre and in front of a lecture hall. A Fellow of the Royal College of Podiatry, he practises in Northampton and teaches across the UK and abroad on foot surgery, local anaesthesia, prescribing and evidence based podiatry.

He is the author of core textbooks on the subject and one of the most booked CPD tutors working today. His sessions are direct, clinically honest, and full of what actually works when the door opens and the patient sits down.

Ian is also warm, approachable and funny. He tells stories. He asks about your practice. He answers questions over coffee, on the lift or in the hotel bar. That is why people return. They come for the CPD and they leave with a new friend.

"The small cohort size made a huge difference. Ian's delivery was engaging, practical and immediately useful in clinic." Helen Jones, inaugural delegate.

From the inaugural cohort

Delegates do not talk about the slides. They talk about the week.

"A wonderful first conference in Chamonix and a great chance to meet podiatrists and clinic owners from many countries. Ian's lectures were clinically relevant and gave me several action points to take back to work. I am already looking at next year."
Claire Dawson
"The small cohort meant every question got answered and every voice got heard. The location was exceptional: focused learning by day, real time to breathe by night."
Helen Jones
"The best CPD event I have been to. I came home with real skills I could use in clinic the next week, and with new friends I still call. Book it."
Luke McCarthy
